Vendor needs to provide modern claims processing program support services.
- Assist VA in modernizing the Disability Compensation claims process by using data analytics and human-centered design to develop insights into current adjudication process in order to identify opportunities for business process improvement.
- Continued enhancement of wireframes and identification of features to assist adjudicators in making adjudicative decisions that utilize VA’s existing Disability Benefits Questionnaire (DBQ) and other applicable adjudicative data in order to improve the speed, accuracy, and efficiency of the rating adjudication process through a Preliminary Automated Rating (PAR) decision.
- Provide VA with improved hospitalization reporting based on medical database queries against the veterans’ health administration’s corporate data warehouse and VBA’S corporate database. the primary focus of this enhanced reporting capability is to improve case management associated hospitalization in excess of 21 days, convalescence associated with service-connected disabilities, and hospital admission for service-connected veterans in receipt of aid and attendance benefits. additional operational improvements associated with the interoperability of computable medical data will also be explored using similar methodologies.
- Expand VA’s data-mapping effort associated with the utilization of Disability Benefits Questionnaires data in association with regulatory adjudication criteria in support of the VA Schedule for Rating Disabilities modernization.
- Provide data management and governance support, as well as DBQ enhancement and maintenance assistance to VA to ensure Preliminary Automated Rating capabilities produce intended outcomes.
- Evaluate standardized data exchange language and common clinical datasets used by VA, DoD, community care providers, etc. as part of an interoperable electronic health record. As part of this evaluation process, identify ways to evolve the use of medical data to improve the speed, accuracy, and standardization of claim adjudication outcomes, specifically in relation to VASRD criteria.
- Support VBA with training and change management related to new functionality and capabilities associated with the MCP projects and initiatives as defined in the tasks above
