[*] Scope of Service:

Vendor needs to provide fund attorney and claims management and litigation.
- To provide legal advice to the Fund Commissioners and Executive Committee;
- Provide reports to the Fund Commissioners and/or Executive Committee on such matters and at such times as the Commissioners and Administrator may direct;
- Advise the Fund on legal matters important to the Fund.
- Assist the Fund Commissioners, Executive Committee, and Executive Director in the selection of attorneys to handle claims against the Fund or its members where the Fund is obligated to provide a defence and to supervise in conjunction with the Third-Party Administrator, the work of such attorneys;
- Coordinate the handling of litigated claims, as outlined in the Fund litigation Management Policy, with the Administrator and Executive Director, claims servicing organization and with the attorneys approved by the Fund;
- Advise the Fund on legal matters and the appropriateness of claim settlements recommended by the Claims Servicing Organization;
- Defend any claim against and individual Fund participant as assigned by the Executive Director and Administrator;
- Advise the Commissioners on the selection of counsel to represent the Fund in the defence of claims; and
- Provide other services as may be required by the Fund Commissioners and/or Executive Committee, Executive Director, the Fund's By-Laws, Risk Management Plan and/or the statutes and regulations pertaining to the Fund.
