[*] Scope of Service:

(1) Vendor needs to provide emergency medical billing services.         
-  Invoices
• Contractor will be responsible for preparing and distributing invoices for all billable runs.
a. Invoice must conform with county EMS rate schedule.
b. Invoice must be in accordance with all guidelines and procedures established by White County.
c. Invoices must follow all applicable laws of the united states, State, as well as applicable rules of medicare and medicaid.
d. Invoices must conform to the fair debt collection practices act.
e. Invoices must be able to be customized to meet the needs and desires of county.
- Processing
a. All runs must be pre-screened to confirm compliance with appropriate guidelines. This includes physician certification statements, assignment of benefit signature forms, or medical necessity documentation.
b. All information supplied by EMS should be reviewed and utilized to appropriately code and bill all runs.
c. Any discrepancies or required additional information discovered during the run processing should be immediately addressed with EMS staff.   
d. county expects all runs to be billed within five business days from receipt of the run information.
- Insurance
a. All runs should be screened for appropriate insurance coverage. Billers must review hospital face sheets or other submitted documentation in conjunction with available insurance databases.
b. The filing of insurance should be performed, as much as possible, via electronic means.
- Addressing
• The contractor shall have a method of “scrubbing” name and address information for accuracy. If billing statements are returned as undeliverable, they should be examined and resent with correct address information   
(2) A contract period will be for three year.
