[*] Scope of Service:

(1) Vendor needs to provide coding and auditing.    
- Collect, account for, and allocate physician patient-care income. UP Professional Coding & Revenue division has over 100 certified and non-certified dedicated, talented coding professionals understand the importance of and provide precise, efficient, and comprehensive medical coding of physician, advanced practice clinician, and ancillary services.
- Medical coding is the process of converting complex medical information, records, and documents to alphanumeric codes to simplify patient communications, billing, and revenue collection.
- Medical coding specialists review clinician documentation for office visits, surgeries, and other services to accurately assign required Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS), International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision, Clinical Modification (ICD-10-CM), and American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) codes and applicable modifiers to maximize reimbursement for services. Additionally, the medical coding specialists ensure compliance with medical coding policies and guidelines Meet with and educate new clinicians as they onboard with University Physicians.
- Review documentation practices of existing clinicians for accuracy, compliance with applicable billing guidelines, and optimization of reimbursement.
• Provide widespread education on changing guidelines and other practices impacted by new legislation and/or guidelines. Attend Revenue Cycle meetings with Divisions to identify educational opportunities.
• Work with Professional Coding and Revenue supervisors to identify and address educational needs for clinicians
• Maintains knowledge of current and developing issues and trends in medical coding and documentation. Maintains knowledge and expertise in electronic software tools (IDX, Cerner, Optum, etc.) Conducts audits of professional coders within UP.
• Other duties as assigned, including special projects assigned by organizational leadership
(2) All questions must be submitted no later than November 15, 2023.    
(3) The contract period will be one year.
