Vendor needs to provide workers compensation third party claims administrator service to manage claims for the City’s self‐insurance Workers’ Compensation Program.
- Promptly and thoroughly investigate all claims reported and determine if the claim is valid and compensable under state statutes.
- Determine proper benefits due on compensable claims.
- Pay benefits, medical bills, and bills for all claims‐related services in a timely manner, out of the City’s funds established for worker compensation insurance.
- Utilize effective claims management techniques designed to contain costs, appropriately return employees to work, and resolve claims
- Identify and pursue subrogation and shared liability claims.
- Assist with audits by regulatory agencies.
- Maintain and update claims data and other pertinent information in an automated claims tracking system.
